Join the Southeastern U.S. Region Teaching Circle on Thursday, October 12 at 5:00 pm EDT on Zoom for a presentation by Dr. Tatiana Andrienko-Genin of Westcliff University and Florida International University. Tatiana will share Teamwork in an Online Class. (Zoom details are provided at the end of the message.)
The transition to online learning has brought educators notable challenges to resolve. As never before, feeling lonely and isolated affected the students’ mood, morale, and motivation to work. As a solution to the social isolation problem in an online setting, this session will offer some insights and practices about the potential of team assignments to provide students with the opportunity for human connection and collaboration.
The session will offer some examples of team assignments for graduate and undergraduate students, inviting the attendees to share their visions and best practices. The types of online collaborations to be discussed include:
- Collaborative writing and presentations
- Creative or research team projects
- Online role-playing
- Collaborative international online learning
We will also discuss teaching the students to use a variety of communication tools of the future – from Zoom to collaborative online platforms – with ease and efficiency.
