A few weekends ago, ABC member Camilla Vásquez was featured in the business section of the New York Times. The article, “The Art of the Amateur Review,” focused on Dr. Vásquez’s research about the language of online reviews and recognized her book The Discourse of Online Consumer Reviews as one of the most important works in this emerging area. In the NYT article, she was quoted as saying, “I like reviews that surprise and delight me. I see this as an active and creative expression of what writers have the power to do.” Camilla hails from the University of South Florida in ABC’s Southeastern Region.
