Opportunities for Graduate Students at ABC Detroit Closing Soon

The Graduate Studies Committee would like to offer a reminder that applications for two graduate student opportunities at the ABC International Conference in Detroit are due soon:

  • The ABC Graduate Student Travel Grant gives master's and doctoral students who are presenting at the conference an opportunity to receive a grant to offset some costs of attending the conference. Apply here by end of day on Thursday, August 1
  • The Graduate Studies In-progress Research Session is a conference session that provides graduate students a supportive space for workshopping, knowledge sharing, networking, and problem solving issues related to in-progress work. Students will be able to ask more experienced faculty questions about research issues. Sign-up is required so that coordinators know how many people to expect. Please sign up by end of day on Friday, August 16.

Eligible applicants must be new or current ABC members who are enrolled in a graduate program at the time of the conference and must have been approved to present at the conference.  We look forward to applications in each of these opportunities! Please forward this information to any graduate student who may be interested in attending the conference.

Once in Detroit, graduate students are encouraged to stop by the Graduate Lounge on the lobby level of the conference hotel to meet, reflect, practice, relax, and share.  Our Friday afternoon committee meeting will be in the same space. See you in Motor City!
