The ABC Graduate Student Travel Grant Call for Applications

The Association for Business Communication is pleased to announce the ABC Graduate Student Travel Grants. Several $400 travel grants will be awarded to support graduate students presenting on business communication research, pedagogical innovations, or diversity and inclusion initiatives at the ABC Annual International Conference in Detroit, Michigan, October 23–26, 2019. The travel grants will be presented during the conference. The grants will be presented at the Presidential Awards Dinner during the conference and can be used to reimburse travel expenses and/or ABC annual dues.

Eligible applicants must be new or current ABC student members who are enrolled in a graduate program at the time of the conference and must have been approved to present at the conference. Grants will be awarded based on both merit and need, with preference given to first-time attendees and graduate students who are not currently employed in a full-time academic or professional position in business/communication. (ABC considers permanent adjunct faculty as full-time/professional.) Eligible applicants include graduate research/teaching assistants. Grant recipients will be asked to donate two hours of service at the conference (e.g., staffing the registration table, helping to coordinate the silent auction, and/or photography).

To register for the conference with the student rate, your ABC student membership must be newly obtained or current. Obtain the graduate student discount code from abcoffice@businesscommunication.org prior to attempting registration, but after first establishing student membership and after receiving your approval to present.

To be considered for a grant, please log in and complete the application no later than August 1. Please direct any questions about these grants to the chair of the Graduate Studies Committee, Stephen Carradini  (Stephen.Carradini@asu.edu).
