At each annual ABC international conference in recent years, ABC affiliate C. R. Anderson Foundation (501(c)(3) has conducted a silent auction. Proceeds raised funded both the graduate student travel grant and a charity in the host city. Thanks to all who have participated in the silent auction.
This year’s silent auction at the Miami conference will focus on helping to fund the graduate student travel grant with 100% of proceeds supporting that program. ABC and the C.R. Anderson Foundation operate the graduate student travel grant as well as research grants. Click here for more information about the C.R. Anderson Foundation and its grants. Many graduate students have been able to attend our conferences with this support.
Graduate students are the future scholars, teachers and professionals of business communication. A contribution to and/or purchase from the silent auction, consequently, supports the future of ABC and business communication study while providing value to colleagues.
Attendees have contributed various items in the past, including: gift certificates/cards, jewelry, books, art work, tickets to sporting events, condo rentals, among other items. As long as it will fit in a suitcase and has value, we can use it.
