As previously shared with you in newsletter communication earlier this year, we are migrating the ABC website to a new software platform. The transition will take place next week, June 24-28. In 2017, our current online community software company, Socious, was bought by Higher Logic (HL). HL is a much larger company that also specializes in providing organizations a web-based community platform. They are now retiring Socious and we are moving to the updated HL offering. Several $400 Student Travel Grants are available to support graduate and undergraduate students who will deliver a presentation at the Annual International Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Association of Professional Communication Consultants (APCC) joins ABC in inviting ABC members who are full- and part-time communication consultants to apply for the jointly sponsored 2024 Award for Excellence in Communication Consulting. The Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation on Business Communication is awarded annually to the outstanding dissertation or thesis in the area of business communication written as part of a doctoral program. The dissertation must be successfully defended within the two years preceding the annual conference at which the award is presented. The deadline for you to sponsor student submissions to the 2024 Student Competition Award is May 17. Dr. Rachel Dolechek of Fort Hays State University wrote the winning 2024 Student Competition case. The case asks students to compose a persuasive, evidence-backed email encouraging employees in the scenario's company to complete additional training about smart device etiquette.
