ABC Mentoring Defined

ABC mentoring is a deliberate voluntary relationship that

• is arranged by ABC
• occurs between an experienced person and one or more less-experienced persons
• is typically focused on interpersonal support, sharing of wisdom, coaching, and role modeling
• is expected to benefit all parties in the relationship for personal growth and career development
• takes place by whatever means is most convenient: face-to-face meetings, email, telephone
• may continue for as long as the parties find it mutually beneficial
