Job Description

The University Writing Center at the University of Delaware invites applications for an Associate Director of Oral Communication. This 12-month staff appointment reports to the Director of the Writing Center and is responsible for developing and delivering oral communication instruction via workshops, staff development and other campus leadership activities. This Associate Director will also teach three courses annually in the Department of Communication Studies.

The successful applicant will have an M.A. in Communication and a minimum of five years relevant experience. Preferred qualities include an ability to work with academic professionals and experience working in a tutorial program, strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to prepare and deliver oral, written, and visual presentations to a variety of audiences and multiple venues; experience working effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; ability to foster a cooperative environment and to work in a collegial fashion with peers in other organizational units.
