Registration for ABC Annual Conference Now Open

Conference registration is open for ABC’s 81st Annual International Conference in Albuquerque, NM, October 19-22, 2016.  Visit the conference web page for registration and schedule details, including Schedule-at-a-Glance and a separate grid with speaker names and times.  Please know the schedule is subject to change.

We have two exciting pre-conference workshops Wednesday, October 19.  Stephen Lind will teach us how to incorporate digital video assignments in business communication courses.  In the second workshop, Kristen Lucas, Jenna Haugen, Stephen Cohen, Ashley Ludewig, and Jacob Rawlins will engage participants in using competency-based rubrics to grade assignments and provide developmental feedback to students. See the conference web page for more information and to note updated timing.

Regional meetings are Friday, October 21 during breakfast.  In addition, committee and SIG meetings are late Thursday and Friday afternoons.  Please note the updated meeting day and time for your committees.

With a plethora of engaging and vibrant group panels and individual sessions, we will have a “My Favorite Assignment” session each day of the conference.  Similar to last year, poster sessions will be Thursday and Friday mornings.  Other schedule highlights include a research roundtable on data and methodological decision making.  We’ll also have lightning roundtables on technology and teaching, design issues for online courses, and diversity and inclusion.  The Thursday afternoon plenary showcases the 2015 award recipients for the Meada Gibbs Outstanding Teacher-Scholar Award, the Kitty O. Locker Outstanding Researcher Award, the Award for Excellence in Consulting Communication, and the Pearson Award for Innovation in Teaching with Technology.

Along with on-line registration, you can sign up (by Sep 30) for the optional excursions--a pre-conference Albuquerque trolley tour and a post-conference bus tour to Santa Fe.  More excursion details are on the conference website.  Stay tuned for more details about things to do in Albuquerque and Santa Fe!

If you have any questions, please email us.  We are looking forward to seeing all of our ABC friends and colleagues in October and to being enchanted in New Mexico!
