The 4th Convention of the Asia Pacific Region of the Association for Business Communication is being held in conjunction with the Annual Conference of the New Zealand Communication Association (NZCA) from 10-12 December in Auckland, New Zealand.

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

The conference starts with a Maori ceremony, or powhiri, to welcome our visitors. Our plenary speakers include ABC President Linda Beamer and ABC Past President Kitty Locker. Other plenary speakers range from Jim Higgins of the NZ Internet Society, who can be relied on to provide an engaging perspective of future developments in telecommunications, to Greg Fortuin, a master storyteller who formerly held the post of NZ Race Relations Conciliator.

REGISTRATION

If you haven't registered yet, there is still time! The registration cost is NZ$425 for those who register by 1 September 2003 and NZ$475 for those who register after 1 September.

To pay your registration by credit card, download the registration form here and follow the instructions on the form. Note that we are offering special rates if you want a friend or family member to accompany you to the conference dinner, or to attend sessions on one or more days of the conference. The daily conference rate includes lunch, morning and afternoon teas, as well as a copy of the conference proceedings.

Our conference venue is the Sheraton Auckland Hotel & Towers, close to universities and within the Central Business District. See below for reservation details and note the very special conference room rate: only NZ$165 per night for a room for two people if you make your reservation before June 30. TIME OUT
Auckland in early December is a visitor's delight. Take in some glorious scenery: climb a volcano or try a harbor cruise. Shop for gifts: the stores will be well stocked in anticipation of Christmas. Enjoy divine coffee and Pacific Rim or "fusion" cuisine at our cafes and restaurants, and visit one of the West Auckland vineyards. Prepare to have a good time with us!
