68th Annual Convention
October 22-25, 2003
Albuquerque, New Mexico

Overview
Join
your colleagues at ABC's 68th annual convention
October 22-25, 2003, at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque.
Convention highlights include
- Wednesday evening welcome reception
- Plenary session featuring ABC Outstanding
Researcher and Outstanding Teacher
- Full-day consultants' track, running
concurrently with the convention
- Research forum, where researchers present
work-in-progress
- Proceedings on CD
- Optional Saturday excursion to Santa
Fe
Special
focus: Communication and Ethics
The
reputation of Corporate America has been battered
by a "perfect storm" of highly publicized instances
of unethical behavior. This has created both a
new context and special challenges for the practice
of business communication. ABC's 2003 convention
theme addresses the significance this new context
and these challenges:
- What is the relationship between ethical communication
and ethical business behavior?
- How would we characterize ethical communication?
- What are the effects of unethical communication
on all stakeholders?
- What are current best practices in ethical
communication? What companies or organizations
are doing a particularly good job?
- How can we infuse the business communication
curriculum with a profound understanding of
the need for ethical communication within and
beyond the corporation.
