Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation
   

Distinguished Publication on Business Communication

The ABC Award for Distinguished Publication on Business Communication is awarded annually to an outstanding book, a book chapter, or a journal article that meets the criteria described below. The winning author(s) will receive a plaque and a monetary award at the ABC Annual Convention in October or November of each year. The winning author(s) will also receive one year of free membership in ABC. The award is sponsored by textbook authors Courtland L. Bovee and John V. Thill.

Selection Criteria
1. Contributes significantly to scholarship, research, and/or pedagogy
2. Demonstrates originality of thought and careful investigation
3. Is well written, lucid, and engaging
4. Is published in the calendar year preceding the annual convention at which the award is presented


Nomination Procedures

  • Entries may be submitted by the author(s) or by a nominator to the
    Publications Board members listed below.
  • With the nomination, please send to each Publications Board member the following: complete publication information, a high quality paper or electronic copy of the nominated publication, and a one or two paragraph rationale for the nomination.
  • Nominations must be submitted by June 15, 2008.

Authors are not eligible to receive this award two years in a row. If the review committee finds no book, chapter, article or essay worthy of the award in a given year, no award will be presented.
