Deborah C. Andrews, Professor of English at the University of Delaware, coordinates the department's program in business and technical writing. She is the former editor of Business Communication Quarterly and serves as a reviewer for several journals and publishers. With William D. Andrews, she has published two textbooks in various editions, most recently Management Communication: A Guide (Houghton Mifflin, 2004). She also published a text in technical communication and edited an anthology on the international dimensions of that topic. She received the ABC's "Distinguished Service Award" in 2004 and its "Outstanding Teacher Award" in 2005. |

Mirjaliisa Charles is Professor of English Business Communication in the Helsinki School of Economics, Finland - her base since 1975. In HSE she has pioneered, and is currently heading, a PhD programme in International Business Communication. She is also developing a Master’s Programme in International Business Communication, for start-up in 2005. She has published widely, particularly in her special area of expertise - negotiations in an international business environment. Currently, her research interest is in post-merger communication in multinational corporations, with special focus on the use of English as a lingua franca.
In 1994, Mirjaliisa was among the first in her country to join ABC. Now, she is in her second term on both the ABC Research Committee and the Publications Board.

respected business writing consultant, Dan is a co-founder
and past president of the Association of Professional
Communication Consultants. He earned his Ph.D. at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. |

Dr. Bertha Du-Babcock is an Associate Professor and Director of FHS International Exchange at the City University of Hong Kong. She was the recipient of the 2004 Meada Gibbs Outstanding Teaching Award by the Association for Business Communication (ABC). Her research and publications have had a wide impact on the global academic professional communication community where she has received international academic and professional recognition for her contributions in the field of professional and business communication, including her recent research articles. Du-Babcock has recently won the Outstanding Article Award in the Journal of Business Communication in 2007 and the Outstanding Article Award in the Business Communication Quarterly in 2001. Dr. Du-Babcock currently serves as an editorial review board member for the Journal of Business Communication and Business Communication Quarterly and as Co-Chair of ABC's International Issues Committee

Ron Dulek

Ronald Dulek is the John R. Miller Professor of Management at The University of Alabama. Ron has published eight books, more than 50 refereed academic articles, and has been a member of ABC since 1977. He is the 2006 recipient of the Kitty Locker Outstanding Researcher Award. Additionally, in the past year Ron received the Thomas Moore Outstanding Undergraduate Instructor Award, the College of Continuing Studies Outstanding Teacher Award, and was selected as the Inaugural Speaker for the University of Alabama's Last Lecture Series. The speaker for this series was chosen based on a vote of all seniors at The University of Alabama. Ron has also received the Alabama Alumni Association's Outstanding Teacher Award, the Penny Allen Award for service to students, and has been named Outstanding MBA/EMBA Instructor 17 times.

Marilyn Easter is a professor at San Jose State University (California) where she teaches both business communication and marketing. She has earned three teacher excellence awards, and has authored or co-authored a book and over 50 articles and papers in areas of marketing, business, communications, and education. Marilyn graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Business and Education. She earned masters degrees in Administration and Management and in Social Work at Denver University and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of San Francisco. Her research interest includes international business communication and education, cross-cultural communication, cooperative learning, and epistemology. Marilyn is a motivational speaker, and appeared on an Emmy-nominated television talk show to discuss the impact of California's Proposition 209 on higher education. She has received five community service awards. |

Geraldine E. Hynes is an Associate Professor in the College of Business Administration, Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas. She has a BA in English and Speech from the University of Illinois-Chicago, an MA in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois-Urbana, and a Ph.D. in Higher/Adult Education from St. Louis University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in business writing, presentation skills, and management communication. She has considerable experience in distance education and teaches a course for the Professional MBA-Online program at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She also offers communication consulting, coaching, and customized training for government, non-profit, and corporate clients.

Dr. LeeAnne G. Kryder is a professional writing lecturer at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), where sheteaches a variety of business and technical writing courses, and directs a new emphasis in Business Communication. She also consults for local government, non-profit, and business organizations. Before teaching, LeeAnne spent eleven years in the computer industry as a technical writer, systems analyst, and manager, so she works to bridge workplace and academic perspectives in her teaching and research. Recently she contributed six articles to the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Business Ethics and Society (Sage Publishing). LeeAnne has published in Business Communication Quarterly, IEEE-Transactions on Professional Communication, and Technical Communication, and contributed to Dr. Mary Ellen Guffey’s instructor modules. Dr. LeeAnne G. Kryder has been a member of ABC for twelve years, and has served as chair of ABC's Committee on Undergraduate Studies and as a member of the Future of ABC committee.

Kathy Rentz is an Associate Professor in the professional writing program of the English Department at the University of Cincinnati. Over the course of her more than 20-year affiliation with ABC, she has chaired the Midwest Meeting of the ABC in Cincinnati in 1989, served on the Board of Directors as Midwest VP for two terms, served two terms as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Communication and was Interim Editor from 2000-2001, for which she won the Francis W. Weeks Award of Merit. Most recently she has served as Chair, Co-Chair, and member of the ABC Publications Board.

Nancy Schullery, PhD and MBA, is Associate Professor of Business Information Systems at at Western Michigan University, where she is currently serving as Director of Undergraduate Programs in the business college. Her research interests include small group communication, group skills pedagogy, argumentativeness, the effects of typology, and workplace culture; and she has published in several communication-focused journals, including JBC, BCQ, The Western Journal of Communication, Management Communication Quarterly, and Communication Research Reports. In ABC, Nancy has chaired the Student Awards Committee for three years after having proposed a student writing contest in 1999; served as an associate editor for JBC; and served as a reviewer for both JBC and BCQ.

Maryann T. Wysor

Maryann T. Wysor is the Director of Business Communication Programs and also a Co-Director of the Women's Mentor Program in the Robinson College of Business at GSU. She attended the Ecole Superieure de Commerce Exterieure in Paris, France, and is APICS Certified. She won top honors with Ron Weiser for the Innovative Teaching Award from the SBAA in 1998 for teaching excellence. She chaired ABC's Atlanta 2000 Convention and currently serves as a Director at Large. Maryann and her husband, Andy, are co-chairs of ABC's 68th Annual Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in October of 2003. |
